Impending Travel Itinerary

This will likely as not be my last post for some time, as I'm going to be both busy as all hell and frequently without internet access for the next month. The project I'm currently working on will benefit tremendously from some on-site research in Europe, and as a dozen constellations worth of stars aligned to facilitate my doing just that I leave for London on Sunday morning. Although I'm going to be bouncing around quite a bit I'd love to meet anyone who's around and inclined while I'm over, and to that end I'm posting a rough schedule below--shoot me a message here or via email if you think those very same stars I mentioned are right for a meet-up of some stripe.

Monday the 19th--Thursday the 22nd: Central London (Bloomsbury/Holborn)
Thursday the 22nd--Tuesday the 27th: Amsterdam
Tuesday the 27th--Saturday the 31st: Dordrecht, Rotterdam, and hopefully Leiden
Sunday the 1st--Sunday the 8th: Rural Austria, and hopefully Berne
Sunday the 8th--Tuesday the 10th: Back to the Netherlands, possibly to Tilburg and/or Leiden and definitely back to Amsterdam, as I fly out Wednesday morning.

So that's where I am and when, with most dates and locales fairly settled on at this point (some hostels don't allow late game cancellations). If you're around and interested let me know--exploring is often more fun in numbers. Even if a meet-up isn't feasible, does anyone have suggestions of can't-miss destinations? The weirder the better where most things are concerned, except maybe restaurants. Hell, restaurants, too.

I hope everyone has a safe and pleasantly eventful summer, and I should be checking my email fairly often while I'm abroad if you need or simply would like to drop me a line--no guarantees on a response time, but I'll do my best. I don't talk a lot about such things online but I recently had a health scare that turned out to be just that and nothing too much worse, and with the best case scenario prognosis that I've received I'm relieved that I have both an explanation for all the weird symptoms I've suffered lately and the assurances that I'm not harboring anything dire or contagious. Apologies if I've acted peculiarly over the last few months but I was a bit on edge from it all, and now that things are looking up I'm, well, looking up. Though not exactly a vacation, this sojourn to the Continent ought to banish any lingering specters of unpleasantness, and while I'll miss my family and friends I'm anxious to sink my fingers into history.

See you on the other side!
