Poe And Crow: Stories By Friends
Busy days but wanted to call attention to a couple of pieces of short fiction recently published by friends of mine. First up is "Of Parallel and Parcel" at MungBeing by my friend from Small Times, S.J. Chambers. She's a Poe scholar of the first water and uses her voluminous knowledge to craft a haunting little piece about dear Virginia, about whose inner workings we know so little.
The other story is "Cory's Father" over at Strange Horizons by Francesca Forrest, which is another story that seems almost too brief, but that's a selfish and myopic sentiment arising from the enjoyment I got from reading it.
Huge congrats to the both of them, and my apologies for not mentioning it here earlier. What about the rest of you--read anything good online recently? Which reminds me that I also really liked "Exodus" by Stephen Graham Jones, which is a bit older but I just read yesterday courtesy of his discussing its origins on the jmww site. Go forth and read.
