Story Sale, Monster Lit, and Grossbarts in the Big Haus
I'm very pleased to announce that my short story "Down There Where You Don't Go" has been sold to Jabberwocky and will appear in the next issue, which should be released in July. Big thanks to editors Wallace and YellowBoy! And big thanks to Molly Tanzer, who ran the flash fiction contest that spurred me to right this story--odd that only now that I've left the south have I really started writing about it.
I'm also happy to direct all readers to Bookslut, where my friend S.J. Chambers has recently posted her thorough thoughts on the Monster Lit phenomenon that Pride & Prejudice & Zombies kicked off. Selena, always one to bludgeon her brain with a pile of books, took on as many of the cash-ins mash-ups as she could and chronicles the task in highly amusing fashion. Congrats!
And finally, a reader has informed me that she has gotten The Sad Tale of the Brothers Grossbart approved for inmates in the Texas prison system, and uncensored at that. I very much hope the novel helps any incarcerated readers pass the time in as enjoyable a fashion as is possible. Thanks, Pamela!
Oh, and it looks like tomorrow Molly and I will be covering Red Sonja for our Films of High Adventure essay series so if you want to prepare by watching the movie--or engaging in any other activity that kills a comparable legion of brain cells--go right ahead and meet us here tomorrow.
You are incredible kid. Wow!
