Quick update time! I’m currently working on a new novel, but am too superstitious to talk about projects until they’re ready to go out the door…so that’s it for now.
Here are two things I am happy to announce, though:
A while back my publisher asked me to write an article about how I handled representation in my Alex Marshall series, since dark fantasy has a reputation for being pretty pasty, straight, & dude-centric. I spent a lot of time mulling it over, & my piece is now live at the Barnes & Noble Sci-fi & Fantasy Blog. Feel free to let me know what you think, here or there.
I will be taking part in the Shades & Shadows reading event at the University Bookstore in Seattle this Saturday, June 30th, at 4PM. I’ll be joining Crystal Connor, Aaron Besson, Timothy Long, Tyrell Johnson, Annette Fuller, and host Xach Fromson. Their tagline is “It’s literature…but with monsters!” so I reckon I’ll fit right in. Hope to see you there!

Thanks, Will, and sorry for the long lag in getting back to you-owe you an email someday soon!

Just randomly checked your site & am super excited you’re working on a new book. I’m a big fan of your weird historical novels. Good luck with whatever you are writing!
Jesse
Thanks so much for reading, Kim, and I hope you like whatever comes next!
